What inspired you to become an photographer?
The passion my grandfather and father had for photography was addicting.
Do you have any formal training?
I studied at Brooks Institute of Photography for a couple of years. Later I received a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting from Kansas City Art Institute in Missouri. Then I went on to receive a Masters of Studio Art from New York University.

What is your best photography tip?
Always shoot on manual.
What’s one thing you could never live without?
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I am not sure where I'll geographically be in five years, but I will always be an artist. My short-term and long-term goals are to to help people.
What's something people would never know about you just by looking at you?
I'm Cuban-American, and I speak three languages fluently.

What’s the best piece of advice you could ever give to someone?
Be selfless. Do things for others without expecting anything in result.
What is your greatest professional achievement?
When I was living in Spain, I was asked to shoot the 2007 and 2008 ad campaigns for music festival, Primavera Sound. It was the first time I had ever seen my photos on billboards, sides of busses and important European magazines.
What do you think makes you a different photographer?
I have an unusual mix of quiet technical perfectionism combined with delicate artistry.
What is your greatest personal achievement?
Taking care of my father during his last months of life.
When you're not working, how do you like to spend your time?
Exercise, travel, sleep and time with family and friends.
Do you have a quiet place?
Yes, I have two: the ocean and the gym.
